He continued to build connection and secure England’s throne. He married his daughter, Margaret Tudor to James IV of Scotland to secure peace. Then he married his oldest son Arthur, to a Spanish princess, Catherine of Aragon but shortly after Arthur died and was then married of to his younger brother Henry who later became Henry VIII.

England was never a wealthy country. Especially after the War of Roses, but Henry VII was determined to build back the country’s finances. He began to build his administration, he banned all private armies. He taxed barons and nobles to reduce their wealth and to put towards his own armies. He then created a Royal Council, Court of Star Chamber which was used for trials and other judicial matters.

When Henry died in 1509, he left the throne with a considerable amount of wealth and a stable country. He was able to keep any other of Edward III descendants from taking claim to the throne during his reign.
